The Costume Institute Gala

Considered the premier red carpet event, the Gala is used to raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The Gala held at the Met since 1971, is not only the launch of the Institute’s annual fashion exhibit but one of New York’s most exclusive events.

The Met Gala this year had many great outfits, below are a few of my favourites.

Stella McCartney

stella mc cartney Cara Delevingne

Cara looked stunning in this black and white crop top  trouser combo.

stella mc cartney Rihanna

This all white top and skirt combo was both edgy and chic and Rihanna looked flawless.

Christian Dior

Parabal Gurung

The 17 year old looked very avant garde. This young lady knows how to dress to turn heads and make statements.

Ralph Lauren

The model looked fabulous in this shimmering silver open backed, ruffled neck number.

Ralph and Russo Haute Cotoure

Muse indeed, the model looked gorgeous in this red number accessorised with simple understated silver pieces.

Thakoon

The actress has looked beautiful this entire season. Her two toned pink ensemble from Thakoon did not disappoint; it was understated and elegant.

All in all the 2014 Met Gala had many great outfits and was a great success in raising funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
